Four rounds, four continents, four completely different vibes – and now things are getting serious: Anderson, Savatgy and Craig go to Cape Town with only one point difference into the World Supercross SX1 final. One point! That's the difference between a small mistake, a perfect start – or a single courageous decision.
And that's exactly why this finale feels like a powder keg.
Jason Anderson: The Jetlag That Was Worth It
Anderson made quite a statement in Sweden. This guy doesn't just fly to the race – he actually flies sometimes. back to Florida, to work on his clutch and his starts. A completely crazy detour, but: It worked.
In Stockholm, everything suddenly changed: a better start, more control, more bite. He overtook Savatgy at the front and took the victory. The momentum is definitely in his favor right now.
Anderson seems like someone who's just now finding his form. And drivers like that are incredibly dangerous in the final rounds.
Joey Savatgy: A missed opportunity – but that's exactly what could make him stronger now.
Savatgy had actually been in Sweden the The day. Speed? There. Flow? There. Just not at the crucial moment. A little too impatient in the second run, the track too smooth in the third – and suddenly he's missing those three crucial elements that hurt. But Savatgy isn't one to give up. Quite the opposite, in fact.
He knows that such "golden days" are rare. And for Cape Town, that means he'll throw everything he has into it.
This will be a finish with a lot of fire.
Christian Craig: The Hardpack's hopeful
Craig is third in the group – and only one point behind. He delivered a solid performance in Sweden, even if deep ruts weren't really his thing. His comfort zone is clearly on... hard ground, big whoops and clean lines.
And what does Craig need for a wicked finale? Exactly that.
When Cape Town is tough and the whoops get long, then Craig will correct Dangerous. The only problem: its launches. If those go well, the whole thing can tip over.
Three drivers. One point. A finale that's closer than ever before.
This is the situation: Anderson – has the momentum and a bike that finally listens to him. Savatgy – knows that he belongs at the very front when he's in top form and Craig – lurks on hardpack and whoops to showcase his style.
Anything Cape Town brings could change the outcome. A good start, a mistake, the whoops, a line, a moment.
This is not a final you should miss. Even though Cape Town sounds incredibly far away, the time difference will be negligible next weekend. Because with only one hour plus The final in Cape Town is almost like a race on our doorstep.
