Sometimes you experience a race that eclipses everything else – AMA, WSX, you name it. A race where you're so caught up in the excitement that you almost break your table banging on it. That's exactly what happens when a world championship title is up for grabs. the last and probably most exciting Supercross race of the entire 2025 season a decision will be made.
Cape Town delivered such a race. And how!
Anderson vs. Savatgy – a duel that really grabbed me.
The initial situation was already a dream for every fan: Jason Anderson, Joey Savatgy and Christian Craig – three drivers, separated by only a single point. But early in the evening it became clear that the title would come down to a duel of a drama rarely seen: Anderson versus Savatgy.
Two completely different characters, two completely different driving styles, but one common denominator: absolute determinationAnd then came Race 3The grand finale. Not just any race – THE Run, which you will talk about with friends.
20.000 fans, two world championship contenders – and a race at the absolute limit
Savatgy got the better start and immediately set the tone: controlled, precise, determined. Anderson, on the other hand, was a tornado on two wheels, wild yet fearlessly calculating. What followed was arguably the most spectacular demonstration of pure racing intensity of the entire season – AMA included.
It wasn't the last turn, not a single maneuver. It was the entire damn race, lap after lap, overtaking attempt after overtaking attempt, a balancing act of centimeters between triumph and catastrophe.
Savatgy led. Anderson chased. The crowd roared. And nobody could have predicted who would come out on top. Only a few laps from the finish did Anderson make the decisive move. No coincidence, no luck – simply the moment he found the pure determination that defines a champion.
Savatgy countered once more, but the attack was too late and Anderson was already too solid.
The title goes to the rookie and Pipes Motorsport
Jason Anderson not only secured the race win but also his first SX1 World Championship title – and in his rookie year in the World Supercross Championship, no less. Three first-place finishes in the evening, nerves of steel right up to the last second. "Man, that's racing!" he said at the finish line, completely exhausted – and that's exactly how it felt. Pure passion, pure intensity, pure sport.
Savatgy, on the other hand, showed class: disappointed but honest, reflective and absolutely worthy of a title contender.
Cape Town delivered – more than any other Supercross race in 2025.
When you compare all the races this season – including the AMA – this finale stands out.
Not because of one moment. But because that entire races a single, continuous highlight.
Was it the best Supercross race of 2025? For me: without a doubt. Yes. And more clearly than any other answer. Results suggests.
