Noah Ludwig and Sarholz KTM will continue their partnership in 2027. This extension is particularly interesting given the changes that are emerging at Sarholz for the upcoming season. While Ludwig remains, according to our information, Tom Koch will likely leave the team after the end of the current ADAC MX Masters season and join Uwe Reinhardt's new Kawasaki team.
For team manager Andre Sarholz, however, changing anything about the collaboration with Ludwig was apparently never seriously up for discussion.
“For me, it was never really up for discussion that we should change anything. Noah has my full confidence,” Sarholz explained to MXNEWS-Online. Especially in a season that wasn't always easy for Ludwig, it was important to continue standing behind his rider.
"I believe that in difficult times it is all the more important to stand behind him."
Therefore, in recent weeks, the discussion has not only focused on 2027. Several changes have also been made in Ludwig's environment to help him consistently perform at his previous level.
"He is a young athlete for whom everything simply has to be just right for him to perform at 100 percent. A few adjustments have been made in the last month or two that are important for him and for everyone around him."
Sarholz declined to specify which adjustments he meant. However, he believes the direction is right. The team has shown confidence in Ludwig even during difficult periods and is convinced that this will pay off in the coming season.
"We are very confident that we will have a good season next year. We hope that he stays injury-free and that we can then challenge for the top spot."
More GPs for Ludwig
Ludwig's participation in 2027 will not be limited to the ADAC MX Masters. He is expected to compete at the World Championship level more frequently than recently.
“We will of course be racing in Masters and tend to do more GPs than in the last two years to raise his level a little bit more in terms of intensity, experience and so on,” explains Sarholz.
For Ludwig, the contract extension means continuity with the team, but the sporting program is set to expand. More Grands Prix should give him precisely the racing intensity that is difficult to simulate in national competition.
At the same time, the face of Sarholz KTM is likely to change. This is expected to happen if the anticipated switch from Tom Koch to Uwe Reinhardts goes through. new Kawasaki project As confirmed, the team will lose one of its key players after this Masters season. Ludwig, however, will remain – and apparently quite deliberately. While there are changes elsewhere in the team, Sarholz is placing his trust in him rather than opting for a fresh start.
