Motocross of Nations 2027 returns to Assen

The Motocross of Nations (MXoN), the most important off-road motorsport event of the year, returns to Assen, Netherlands, in 2027. On October 9 and 10, the legendary TT track will once again be the stage for the world's best motocross riders. After the resounding success in 2019, despite adverse weather conditions, fans, riders, and organizers are expecting a spectacular comeback—this time with even greater anticipation and professional preparation.

A global motorsport spectacle

The Motocross of Nations brings together the world's best national teams in a unique format. Each country fields its three strongest riders, who will battle it out for the prestigious title. The event's return to Assen is a strong sign of confidence in the region's excellent infrastructure, organization, and passionate fans.

Assen as a venue – a proven success model

Assen has already proven itself in the past as an ideal location for motocross events. The completely reclaimed sand track at the heart of the historic asphalt race track offers a unique atmosphere for both riders and spectators. The Dutch team will also enjoy home advantage in 2027 – and could have a say in the title with a new generation of top riders.

Strong partnerships and international support

The awarding of the 2027 MXoN to Assen is the result of close cooperation between the FIM, the Dutch Motorcycle Federation (KNMV), the local organizing team, and the international promoter Infront Moto Racing. All parties emphasized the importance of the event for motocross – both sporting and commercial – at the official press conference.

David Luongo, Managing Director of Infront Moto Racing, emphasized:

Support from politicians and authorities

The event also enjoys broad political support. The Dutch royal family was present in 2019. For 2027, the city, region, and national authorities are once again relying on the successful MXoN model in Assen to promote not only motorsport, but also tourism and the international reputation of the Netherlands.
