Herlings comments on the MXoN team of the Netherlands

The Netherlands have confirmed their squad for the Motocross of Nations (MXoN) announced in the USA: Glenn Coldenhoff, Kay de Wolf and Calvin Vlaanderen will compete at Crawfordsville Raceway in early October. Three strong names are expected to represent the Dutch team in the fight for the podium.
“Something special every time”
For experienced players Glenn Coldenhoff This is his 13th appearance in the national team jersey. "I'm very proud to represent our country again. It feels special every time, and my motivation remains high," said the 33-year-old after the nomination.

national coach Barry Forchelen sees the selection as a balanced mix: "We are a true motocross country. The decision is a puzzle every year – depending on form, health, and team constellation. We are very happy with these riders. Our goal is clear: a podium finish in the USA."
Herlings reacts calmly to non-nomination
One name in particular caused discussion in the paddock and among international media: Jeffrey HerlingsThe five-time world champion was not considered, although he achieved several victories in his 2025 starts despite his injuries.
At the press conference on MXGP of Sweden in Uddevalla, which he finished second, Herlings commented in detail for the first time: "Yes, I was surprised – but not shocked. Calvin and Glenn are ahead of me in the World Championships, I'm eighth and have a higher risk of injury. A decision had to be made, and I completely respect that. I bear no grudges toward those responsible."
Herlings expressed understanding while also emphasizing the sporting reality: "Of course, I have more wins and titles than Calvin, but that doesn't automatically mean I'm better right now. If you look at my season objectively, the choice isn't crazy."
The KTM rider will be Substitute driver Be ready: "If something happens to Glenn or Calvin, I'll be happy to step in. But I really hope they stay healthy, because the team is strong and can achieve a good result."
