Camden McLellan extends his contract with Triumph until 2027
Camden McLellan will continue to race for the Triumph Factory Racing Team in the MX2 World Championship.
Triumph Factory Racing will continue to rely on Camden McLellan in the coming years. The South African has extended his contract with the British manufacturer by two years and will remain with the FIM MX2 World Championship compete for the factory team. In the saddle of the TF250-X, with which he has been causing a sensation since 2024, McLellan wants to take the next step.

When the 20-year-old joined the team in 2024, it was immediately clear: something was growing together here. At the third World Championship round in Sardinia, he reached the overall podium for the first time. Although an injury forced him to take a six-race break, even that couldn't stop his momentum – he finished ninth in the championship. A debut that whetted his appetite for more.
In 2025, McLellan impressively confirmed the trend. He was back in Sardinia, this time finishing second. Just a week later, his breakthrough came: his first race win in Italy. In Lommel, on the notorious deep sand track, he followed it up with a second-place finish. With four races remaining, he currently sits sixth overall – clear proof that he has established himself at the top.
Why the extension?
"It's a great honor to be able to continue with Triumph," explains McLellan. "We've learned a lot in a short time and built a solid foundation. The team has always believed in me, and we're all working hard to achieve our ultimate goal—the world championship title."
Team manager too Vincent Bereni expresses his conviction: "We are very happy to have Camden on the team for two more years. He is a hard worker, very talented, and we are sure the best is yet to come. Our goal remains clear: podiums, race wins, and ultimately, the title."
Looking ahead: Everything for the MX2 title
The contract extension provides McLellan with planning security – and it gives him the opportunity to fully utilize his remaining years in MX2. Because at the end of 2027, he'll reach the age limit for the class at 23.
Until then, the goal remains unchanged. Collect podiums, win races – and become world champion. "I want to use the next two years to get the most out of it," says McLellan. "The podium is always the goal—and in the long run, of course, the title."
