ADAC MX Masters: Bielstein without Youngster Cup for the first time
As an EMX rider, Liam Owens will probably also be missing from the ADAC MX Masters Bielstein.
The ADAC MX Masters is adjusting its calendar for the upcoming season to accommodate overlaps with the MXGP. Of particular note: For the first time in the 25-year history of the series, the race in Bielstein will be held without the ADAC MX Youngster Cup – a decision that causes controversy.
Background to the changes
The newly confirmed Finnish GP falls precisely on the Bielstein race weekend on July 12 and 13, 2025. To allow young riders from the ADAC MX Youngster Cup and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 to compete, the supporting program in Bielstein has been adjusted. The Youngster Cup has been canceled. The DMX Women's class will be included instead. The ADAC MX Junior Cup 125 will be canceled, and the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85 will return to Bielstein.
While the transition between 125cc and 85cc classes still seems justifiable for many, the lack of the Youngster Cups for discontent.
Why wasn't the date rescheduled?
A possible alternative would have been to Masters weekend one week forward But this would have had significant consequences: World Children’s Day takes place in Wiehl one week earlier. This would have resulted in many volunteers being unavailable, and there could also have been a loss of spectators.
Therefore, the Bielstein organizing teamto maintain the original date and make the necessary adjustments.
